Important connections were made at the 2001 IFFF Symposium in Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland. Rovaniemi is the official hometown of Santa Claus and you can bet Miriam and company were excited to travel so far north and find lichens and mushrooms that produced gorgeous colors. This flower is made with reindeer fur and feathers dyed with lichens in Finland. What a treasure to bring home to the Mendocino Coast, far, far from the North Pole.
